Monday night

We finished the day with an "unofficial" total of 6 baptisms and 1 restoration. We are blessed!  Everyone is working hard but the reward is incredible.

I had the opportunity to teach the teen class tonight. That is an experience I will not forget. I had never presented a lesson to a group with an interpreter before. Apparently I did alright because I am teaching again tomorrow evening.

Here is a picture of me and my new friend Victor. He is the interpreter working with the teen class.

As I mentioned earlier, our friends from the Army are back with us again. They are great to work with. Robbie and I talked them into a couple of pictures. They would not; however, trade hats with me. They just did not appreciate a good Jeep hat!

That's it for tonight. Please continue to pray for us and the dear souls here in Marcala.

Monday update

So we kicked of today with a devo and then went to work. The clinic needed some help so Mark and Joe are helping there. Here are the trainees in action.

Here are a few more pictures from the clinic.

Robbie and I have also had to make a few coke runs today. We took one of the younger kids with us on one run and saw an interesting cattle truck later on.

I'll post more later on. Hope everyone at home is well.

Sunday night recap

So we ended up with 10 baptisms today!  The place was jumping with joy.

The clinic group was wide open as well. I was told the Drs saw over 180 patients today, even after spending the morning setting up.

Although they have smiles on in this picture, I bet these young ladies sleep well tonight!

On a sad note, the hot water heater in the room that Mark and I are staying in decided to stop working tonight. Looks like cold showers the rest of the week. 😩

More to come...

Sunday good news

Already today, we have had 2 baptized into Christ. It is still amazing to me to see the good work going on down here.

We got the clinic up and going and the medical staff has seen several patients. Bible studies are going on all over the place and there are bunches of precious children in classes.

We are also blessed to have support again this year from the Honduran Army. I  have not gotten a picture with them yet, but I will.

More to come.

Sunday morning

We have had breakfast and have begun the process of setting up the clinic. Right now, we have paused the setup to have a devotional period.

We have arrived.

All We finally made it to Marcala and are at the hotel. Mark and I are rooming together. Glad to be off of the bus. Between the curvy roads and the Indy car bus driver, it was all I could do to not be ill.

Here are a few pics

Here is where Mark and I are staying.

On the road to Marcala

We are now on the bus to Marcala. Phil says it is about a 4 hr ride. We have been on the road about 1 1/2 hrs so far. As you can tell, we love riding a bus!

I think Scott and Mark like it more than I do.

We have landed in Honduras

We are here. Getting ready to go through Customs.

Made it to Nashville

Here is the fun part...going through the airports as a group. Here we are in Nashville.

We are off!

After a few encouraging words from our fearless leader (Scott), we are loaded and on our way to the airport.

Here is the support team providing transportation to Nashville. Thanks Jerry, Roger, and Kevin!

Take 2 - Honduras Mission Trip

Well, we are getting ready to head back to Honduras for another week with the folks in Marcala. Thought I would make sure I remembered username and password for the blog so we can share the experience.

We leave on June 28, very early in the morning. Please pray for us but more importantly, please pray for the people of Marcala.

More to come....
