Headed to Nashville

We are now leaving Houston.  It is a small plane but we like to think of it as cozy!

Houston

We made it back to Houston. Now we have to go thru Customs. Fun!  Fun!

All together

The van has returned with the remaining team members. We are now starting the process of checking in.

Headed home

It is just before 5:00 here and we are at the airport. At least all of our baggage is anyway. The vans did not have enough room for everyone so it had to go back for Tommy, Ryan Irwin, and Les.

Our fearless leader has done a great job keeping up with the group. Kuddos to Scott.

Final day

Let me start with my normal recap of yesterday. We had 7 baptisms on Thursday. I cannot say enough good things about the evangelists that were teaching the folks there. Here are a couple of the converts with the local preacher.

We finished up after the gospel meeting and packed all gear. The last things to load were kitchen items. Those folks have done a super job feeding us all week. I cannot remember even 1 "bad" meal. Here they are preparing a meal.

We left Marcala this morning early to head back to San Pedro Sula. Today was the travel day and gives team members to wind down and pick up some items for the folks back home.

I got to drive the van for 1 group. That was an adventure. Here are some pictures from today's activities.

We had a nice meal together tonight and had a chance to say "see you later" to our new friends.

We are leaving the hotel at 4 am so I had better sign off for now. I'll post more tomorrow.

Quick update

Yesterday, we had 2 baptisms. The word is spreading here and the folks doing the bible studies are working hard to do as much as they can while they are here.

Today is the last day for the clinic. The plan is to see 100 patients and then start packing.

I will post more later. For now, here are a few pictures.

Ancy hanging with the kids. She is so hip!

Not sure how this works, but we have seen horses and cows walking along the sidewalks unattended.

Here is my crew. They have done a good job of helping me. They are especially good at keeping the hand washing stations operational and helping with the kids.

This is what happens when you give Faith and Rayna your phone to take a picture for you. :-)

Here is the group of preachers and translators. What a wonderful group to work with.

Water run

We had to run out for some water to use in the restrooms. Obviously, this was not for drinking. We have had problems with the water all week and have had to keep the toilet tanks filled "manually".  Again today, the water supply stopped completely. I took the van and a few helpers and went to a local member's house to fill a few bottles.

Here are a few pictures from that trip.

Glad the van was a straight shift. I needed the practice.

Wednesday activities

Here are some random pictures from various activities.

Here is one of baptisms done today.

Wednesday morning

Just a few quick shots of the folks getting ready to work.

Faith with "teddy bear"

Faith and Catherine drumming up business for the children's class.

Here is Allen at the store trying to decide what to buy.
I was afraid if we stayed in the store very long, Allen was going to buy everyone that came in something.

Hotel

Just wanted to share a few pictures of the hotel room. This one is where Bart, Scott, and I are staying.

I got the bed with the deer blanket.

Here is a picture of the non-working hot water fixture. This made some steam on day 1 but nothing since then. Cold showers are way over rated.
